Jim Beam Distillery

So, last year while we were in Kentucky we visited Woodford Reserve Distillery. Since we decided to make a trip to Kentucky every summer from now on, we also decided that we would start the Bourbon Tour.  There are many distilleries in Kentucky and you can tour them all. Once you have visited all of them and filled up your stamp card, you can send it in for a free T-shirt. We thought it would be a fun tradition to start.

This year we decided to go to the Jim Beam Distillery. It was a bit of a drive but not too far. Unfortunately it wasn't nearly as interesting as Woodford. They don't do a tour of the actual distillery, just the grounds and the storage warehouses. They have little areas set up to show the process but you don't get to really go inside. They are going to start doing that next year though so we may go back. It was also like 110 degrees outside and I was like 10 weeks pregnant... not a great combo but I enjoyed it anyway!

Probably the most interesting part of the tour was getting to go inside the Master Distillers House. This was where Jim Beam and his family lived.
