There's a First Time for Everything

Today was a day of firsts for my little man. It really just amazes me every time he does something new. I see the gradual process from him thinking about it, trying it and getting frustrated, trying again... and again. Then one day just out of the blue he can do it. He's so proud of himself and its just so amazing to watch. He's growing up and changing right before my very eyes. Sometimes I wish I could hit the pause button just for a minute, just to stay in the moment. But at the same time I can't wait to see the next new thing he learns or hear the next new word he says.

He has been trying to put his own shoes on for a while now. He can put on mine and Jeremy's shoes fine because he has so much room. His own shoes have proven to be a little more challenging but he's finally learned how. Even though the majority of the time they are on the wrong feet!

Grandmommy bought him a tricycle a few months back and until today he had yet to figure out how to push the pedals on his own. He would either want me to push him or he would try and get so frustrated when he didn't move. He always tried to push both feet at the same time. Well of course out of the blue this morning he puts his mind to it and does it. And does it again, and again, and again. I'll have to take him out on the street later where he has more room to really go. Needless to say he was very proud of himself, excitedly repeating "I did it, Mom!" over and over! I swear the kid melts my heart.

The seat was damp so he helped himself to a dish towel to put on the seat.

Notice he now has a smiley sticker on his belly!

I feel like I should probably say that I TRIED to put clothes on him this morning, I swear. He down right refused! I'm sure he was a bit chilly but he didn't seem to care.

Not suprisingly he was then easily distracted by the pretty new wind chimes!

For the first time today we also went to toddler story time at the library. He lasted about 5 whole minutes in there with the other kids and he had had enough. He wanted to go out to the kids books section and since I couldn't allow him to scream and cry while everyone else's kids were being nice, quiet, little angels, I took him out.

He was happy then and content to play, color, and read a book with Mommy.

So its been a fun morning to say the least. He's waking up from his nap now so I'm off to play...
